And the lab members:
South China Agricultural University - PhD in Veterinary Medicine, Shandong Agricultural University - Master of Veterinary Medicine . Background: Host-pathogen Interactions, comparative immunology, Influenza. Projects: Antiviral immune factor validation and translational development. Treg immunity in bats. Cross-species zoonotic risk factors.Google Scholar
University of Tokyo - MSc/PhD. Background: Host-pathogen Interactions, bat sarbecoviruses, viral evolution, immunity. Projects: Evaluation of viral zoonotic potential, RT-LAMP field diagnostics, bat library creator. Also loves bat soft toys. Google Scholar
UoE (Edinburgh) student. Bat iPSC, neuroinflammation, microglia & inflammaging. Canadian. Starbucks addict.
UoE (Edinburgh) student. ISG15 antiviral function and diversity across bat species. Virus-Receptor interactions, cross-species zoonosis. Gym Junkie. Cat lover.
李筱萌 Xiaomeng (Melody) LiZhejiang University - University of Edinburgh (Dual-award). Bat IFN evolution. Stress granule, P-body antiviral immune regulation. Loves to makes thing too complex. Needs to learn how to eat spicy food
Zhejiang University - University of Edinburgh (Dual-award). Bat inflammasome activation - protein evolution. Has to be forced to leave campus. Super-chilled.
Zhejiang University. RT-Lamp diagnostics, wetlab guru for EasyLAMP, Technical troubleshooter, trouble maker. Cannot drink baiju.
UoE (Edinburgh) student. Virus evolution, DMS and receptor utilization. Likes Korea way too much. Cocktail maker. Ask to play with her pets.
Zhejiang University - University of Edinburgh (Dual-award). Bioinformatics guru. scRNASeq atlas. Microglia neuroinflammation. Seems quiet but looks are deceiving.
Zhejiang University - University of Edinburgh (Dual-award). Virus-receptor dynamics, attachment factors and proteases. Undergrad that never managed to escape my lab. Loves japan way too much.
Nankai University. Bat iPSCs, HSC's and immune cell differentiation and implantation. Seems quiet, but secretly a party animal.
Nankai University. Bat stem cells, organoids and screening. Pretends to understand English. The only student that arrives before me.
Guangzhou Medical University. Virus metagenomics, host evolution and antiviral restriction. Desparate for his own GPU.
Sun-Yat Sen University. Virus evolution, Host diversity - AI ecology modelling & zoonotic risk calculation. Yet to reveal his true identity.
Lab manager and boss. Makes the lab spin. Too nice to the students.
UoE MSc graduate. Bat Inflammasomes, troubleshooter, maxiprep connoisseur. Says winter back home is "fine".
